Metropolis kicked off the magazine’s redesign with a launch at the Cooper Hewitt. For the event, the LAB at Rockwell Group created a custom software application for the museum’s new touch tables. Products featured from the December issue floated across the tables and transformed into hidden blooms for guests to discover and explore. As users touched an object, similar designs attracted and fanned into a digital bloom. Moments of surprise and spectacle were built in – the longer the user interacted with the installation, the more animated it became.
