Travelle at The Langham
Restaurant
How can you bring a human touch to a corporate icon?
The Langham Hospitality Group asked Rockwell Group to create a signature restaurant in one of Chicago's great icons. Travelle is located on the second floor of the IBM Building, a 1972 landmark designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Warm materials bring glamour to the enduring Miesian minimalism.
The restaurant is broken up by a pair of bronze screens, which form a moving wall to create flexible space. Beyond, bronze pendant lights warmly illuminate the bar, where a deconstructed design in a pinwheel-shaped plan is perfect for socializing in small groups.
To create a space that transforms from day to evening, Rockwell Group designed three Paul McCobb-inspired bar carts. At night, they allow guests to enjoy the theatrical aspect of cocktail preparation.
