Inside the Gramercy Park Hotel, Danny Meyer’s Maialino, Italian for “piglet,” captured the warmth of a traditional neighborhood trattoria. Cozy checked tablecloths, wood flooring and reclaimed ceiling beams combined with polished leather upholstery, concrete mosaic tiles and sleek custom pendant fixtures to capture the authentic trattoria spirit. A centrally-placed salumi station put food at the forefront and helped capture the sights, sounds and energy of an authentic Italian dining experience. The result was a friendly, traditional, and sophisticated environment.
