After completing the original Nobu Dubai in 2008, Rockwell Group was approached to design its next chapter to coincide with the restaurant’s 15th anniversary. Newly located within Dubai’s destination resort Atlantis, The Palm, the space embodies Nobu Matsuhisa’s legacy of inventive, unconventional Japanese cuisine and world-class hospitality.

Situated within the sky bridge that connects the two Atlantis Towers on the 22nd floor, Nobu Dubai provides a multifaceted dining experience, comprising a bar and lounge, expansive outdoor terrace, sushi bar, and private dining lounge with spectacular views of the iconic Palm Jumeirah, Arabian Gulf and city skyline. Rockwell Group’s design deftly combines this dramatic context with Nobu’s roots in the Japanese countryside, infusing the space with subtle references to the underwater myth of Atlantis.

A highly textured, luxurious palette, including hammered metals, chiseled and weathered stones, and green quartzite, evokes an environment submerged under a crashing surf.

A winding, custom-designed textile installation reminiscent of an ocean swell floats above the central bar and through the lounge, leading guests to the dining area and terrace. Materiality is inspired by the beauty of natural elements that evolve over time.
