TAO Los Angeles is a two-story, restaurant, bar and lounge in Hollywood. Occupying a former garage space, the design concept contrasts old and new similar to its sister location TAO Downtown in New York. The building’s original bowstring trusses—prevalent in early 20th century Los Angeles architecture—were restored and lit to highlight their details. An over-scale custom Quanyin statue, a signature element, sits in front of a wall of terracotta radial tiles in the main dining room.
