Shawn Sullivan, AIA, is a Partner at Rockwell Group, where he leads several design studios in New York as well as the Los Angeles office. Shawn’s deep experience spans over 28 years at the firm, where he’s created enduring designs across hotels, resorts, restaurants, nightlife, and residences. Shawn was named the firm’s first partner in 2013. He continues to play an integral role in executing wide-ranging projects, guiding the firm’s growth while also enabling it to achieve the level of creativity, dexterity and breadth that it has become synonymous with today.

Shawn is widely recognized as a leader in the design and hospitality industries. A pioneering force in shaping the way restaurants, entertainment spaces, and educational institutions have evolved, he has been instrumental in the global expansion of brands such as Nobu, including the development of the first Nobu Hotel in Las Vegas; EDITION Hotels; Four Seasons Hotel; TAO Hospitality Group; and Catch Hospitality Group. His cross-disciplinary design approach also helped shape the hospitality-forward Hopkins Student Center and Bloomberg Center for Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore and Washington, D.C.) and the reinvention of Ryan Field at Northwestern University.

Shawn has an innate ability to bridge innovative thinking with an eye for high craftsmanship. His notable projects include multiple Nobu restaurants and hotels worldwide; The Corner Store in New York City; Fontainebleau Las Vegas; the reinvention of the historic Boca Raton resort; Café Boulud in Riyadh; W Hollywood; the strategic expansion of Din Tai Fung restaurants across the U.S.; OMNIA nightclub in Las Vegas; the flagship New York EDITION; 1 Hotel Toronto; Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo; Gekkō in Miami; and the public and premium club spaces at the Climate Pledge Arena in his hometown of Seattle.

Shawn's numerous awards and accolades include an AIA DC Chapter Design Award for the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center; an AIA New York State Design Award Citation for the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center; an International Interior Design Association Award for Atria Palm Beach; several HD and Gold Key Awards, including honors for The New York EDITION and Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge; and an AHEAD Americas Award for Sake No Hana. He graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture.
