Catch Me If You Can

Seattle, WA / New York, NY

Rockwell Group reunited with the team from the Tony award-winning Hairspray to create Catch Me If You Can. After its debut in Seattle, the production was restaged on Broadway a year later. The sets reflect the strong graphic stylings of the 1960s, and capture the spirit of Frank Abagnale Jr.’s tale of deception.

Two full-stage LED screens were programmed with abstract stylized images to provide the backdrop for different environments while a series of profile panels – some wavy, others angled or circular – created different apertures that frame the LED panels for different scenes. An on-stage band adds to the effect of 1960s television spectaculars with a sweeping bandstand that tracks up and down the stage to fit the choreography.
